Winter Wonderland Challenges

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well.  Thank you for all your kind comments and congratulations about my new job which I start on Monday.  I did intend being a lady of leisure for a bit longer but when opportunities arise you have to take them.  I think I will feel a bit like a new girl at school.  After all, I was at my old job for 31 years so a new experience for me lol.

Now onto crafty matters.  Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Winter Wonderland.  Our theme for this week is:
Gingham or Checks
You can create anything you like as long as it is christmas themed and fits the challenge theme.

Here is my inspiration project.

I used a pre coloured image from one of our sponsors, The Paper Shelter for my project.  I simply added some liquid pearls around the image.  The papers and sentiment were in my stash and all the matting was done onto kraft card.  I added a ribbon bow and a star/snowflake embellishment to finish the card.

We have two sponsors for the challenge this week.

Prize $20 gift cerficate

Prize £10 gift certificate

Just pop over to Winter Wonderland to check out the full challenge details and enter the challenge.  Don't forget to check out the lovely inspiration from my talented teamies.

New Challenge at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges

Hi Folks
Well it sure has been an interesting week for me.  As some of you know I left my job after 31 years in June. I decided that I would take a little break and then look for another job.  Well. a couple of weeks ago I saw a job advertised that sounded interesting.  I applied not really thinking anything would come of it.  I went for an interview last week which was very nerve wracking after 31 years of not having to do one.  Anyway, I got offered the job today.  Well, you could have knocked me down with a feather.  The first job I applied for and I got it.  I will be working as a customer service advisor for a local publishing company.  Totally different to my last job but I am looking forward to the challenge.  I start next week so going to enjoy my last few days as a lady of leisure lol.

Anyway, let's move onto crafty matters.  Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is:
Children and/or Christmas

We have three great sponsors for this challenge:
Sparkle and Sprinkle - a prize of 3 digi sets from SNS Exclusive Stamps
Crafty Sentiments - a prize of 3 digi images
Dis Digi Stamps - a prize of $12 gift certificate

Here is my inspiration project using a fun image and sentiment from Sparkle and Sprinkle.

I used the pre coloured version of the image but you do get the uncoloured version too. The sentiment also came as part of the set.  I added some faux stitching to the image panel and matted onto silver mirror card.  The papers were some freebies from a magazine together with the flower.  I belived they may be Craftwork Cards but don't quote me on that.  I added some card candi and gems to finish the card.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  Just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges for full challenge details.  Don't forget to check out the lovely creations from my talented teamies.

Anyone for Rugby

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and enjoying the weekend.  We has a successful shopping trip yesterday to find my daughter's wedding dress for next June.  We knew she had found the one when she came out of the changing room about to burst into tears.  She looked gorgeous and I was so happy for her.  Now to start sorting out ideas for her wedding invitations.

I thought I would share a card today that I made for my nephew to give his brother for his birthday.

Jack likes rugby and plays for a local team on a Sunday so this image was just perfect.  It is a stamp from Papermania.  I stamped it onto white card using distress ink as I wanted to image to appear a bit vintage.  Used some more distress ink around the edges and then matted onto some cardstock.  The backing paper is from Paper Cellar that I have had for about two years.  The trophy was another stamp and I just added some colour with my promarkers.  The sentiment is from LOTV and the buttons were the finishing touch.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend especially is you are enjoying a bank holiday tomorrow.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

New Challenge at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and having a good week.  I must admit that the weather has been a bit cooler the last couple of days but still seen some sunshine so not all bad.

The weeks are really racing by and today sees the start of a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is:
Christmas, Children or Critters
Something for everyone there I think so get those entries in.

We have two great sponsors for this challenge who are Bugaboo Stamps and Robyns Fetish.

For my inspiration project I used a cute image and sentiment from Bugaboo Stamps.

As you can see I decided to go really CAS with this card.  I printed the image and sentiment onto white card and then coloured with my promarkers.  This was then mounted onto some red and orange cardstock.  I added a bow and dazzler and some faux stitching.  Certainly very CAS for me but I do like it.  Would love to know what you think?

Photo Inspiration at The Crafting Cafe

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and having a good week so far.  It was a good day yesterday as our daughter came home after working for four months in Majorca.  She has had a super time but is now getting ready to start her midwife training in September.  It is great to have her back home and I can now stop worrying so much about her lol.

Today I am here to share a little inspiration for our current challenge over at The Crafting Cafe.

Our challenge for this month is to create something using the photograph below as your inspiration.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Ooh La La Creations and I used images from their CD Carnival of Colour for my card.

I matted the three panels onto dark green card and also the backing paper.  I added some dark green ribbon, gems and a sentiment which finished the card.

Thanks for popping by and would love for you to enter the challenge.  Just pop over to The Crafting Cafe for full challenge details.

Mid Month Inspiration at Crafting Musketeers

Hi Folks
Back again to share a little inspiration for our current challenge over at Crafting Musketeers.  Our theme for this month is
1, 2, 3
You can interpret this anyway you choose as long as you stay with the 1, 2, 3 theme, so for example, you could use 1 sentiment, 2 embellishments and 3 papers.  The choice is yours.

The sponsor for this month is the wonderful Polka Doodles and the prize on offer is 4 digi images.

Here is my inspiration project using a great image, DIY Jennie, from Polka Doodles.

I coloured the image using my promarkers and then cut it out using my circle die.  I also added a little distress ink to the edges.  The papers were in my scraps box and I added some ribbon to cover the join along the diagonal.  The corners are die cut and I added some stickles for added sparkle.  For embellishments I added some flowers, a bow, and stick pins.
If you haven't guessed my 1, 2, 3 is 1 image, 2 paper, 3 stick pins.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing your entries.  Just pop over to Crafting Musketeers for full details.  Don't forget to check out the fabulous creations from my teamies.

Guest Designer at Little Claire's

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and had a good week.  I have been busy in the garden and haven't had  lot of time for anything else.  But it will all be worth it when the garden is done.

An exciting post for me today.  I entered a challenge at Little Claire's a few weeks ago and was delighted to be asked to be a guest designer for August and September together with the lovely Rachel.  Thank you to Little Claire's for asking me.   Today sees the start of their new challenge which is:
A Mans Birthday Card

Here is the card that I have created using Hot Air Balloons stamp.

I stamped the hot air balloons and the hills onto some white card.  The hot air balloons were then stamped again onto the same paper as the background and paper pieced.  I also paper pieced the hills by stamping onto a couple of different shades of green paper.  The background paper is from my scraps box.  I cut some corners out of kraft card and added a bit of distress ink.  Some ribbon, a sentiment and some large pearly dots finished the card.

I then decided to make a mini card.

The balloons were again paper pieced and I just added a stamped sentiment and some stickles around the image.

Here are both cards together.

Thanks for popping by and would love to see you enter the challenge at Little Claire's.  Just pop over for full challenge details.  Don't forget to check out the creations from the talented design team.

Mid Month Inspiration for Imagination Crafts

Hi Folks
Just popping by today to share a little inspiration for our current challenge over at Imagination Crafts Challenge blog.

Don't forget that if you enter a project using any Imagination Crafts products you could win a voucher for £40 to spend at Imagination Crafts.  What a prize and well worth winning.

I used various stencils - wild flowers, bird cages and bird houses to create a little scene on white card.  I used versamark through the stencil and then embossed using white and copper embossing powder.  The distress inks then came out to create the blue background.  I added some wisps of grass at the bottom using promarkers.  The flowers are from the Daisy stamp set, stamped and embossed onto vellum and then cut out.  A couple of parchment butterflies and some gems finished the card.

Thanks for popping by.  Just pop over to the Imagination Crafts challenge blog for full challenge details.  You still have until the end of the month to enter the challenge.  Don't forget to check out the super inspiration projects from my talented teamies.

Anything Goes with Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well and your week is going okay.  Still busy in the garden but it will be worth it.  Well, that's what I keep telling myself lol.

Today sees the start of  a new challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges.  Our theme for this week is:
Anything Goes

We have two sponsors for this challenge:  Sassy Studio and Dr Digi.

Here is my inspiration project using a super image from Sassy Studio.

I decided to be very light with the colouring just adding some touches of grey.  I did add some glamour dust to the bride's veil.  I used the tattered lace cherished hearts corner behind the image as a frame and then matted the image onto black and then mirror card.  I used my Martha Steward PATP to create the background for the image and this was matted onto mirror card.  For embellishments I added some rolled roses from Samaflora, a bow, dazzler, some pearls and a wooden heart which I added frantage too.

Thanks for popping by and looking forward to seeing all your entries.  Just pop over to Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges for full challenge details.  Don't forget to check out the super work from my talented teamies.

A Little Bit Naughty

Hi Folks
Apologies for my absence the last few days.  Hubby and I are doing major improvements in our large garden.  It has needed doing for years now and we are finally getting round to it.  Looking forward to getting it finished and I will certainly post some before and after pictures.  In the meantime my apologies for not getting round to comment as regularly as I would like.  After all, I have got to make the most of the dry weather.

But now onto crafty matters.  The boys at Kraftyhands have done it again and they have a new CD launching on the 1st September called 'A Little Bit Naughty'.

Here is a tag card that I have made using elements from the CD.

All of the images and papers are from the CD.  I think this has a real vintage feel to it and I did add some distress ink around the edges of the kraft paper.

The CD can be found here and is currently available to pre order.  There are some fab images, toppers and card sets along with inserts and backing papers.  Why not order your copy today?

Thanks for popping by and look forward to hearing what you think.  Thank you all for your lovely comments and continuing support.

How many dinosaurs?

Hi Folks
Hope you are all well on this lovely Tuesday morning.  The weather is still glorious in my part of the country.  On Sunday our local town held it's annual raft race on the river which runs through it.  It is great fun with loads of teams building rafts and racing down the river - well, crawling in some cases lol.  Lots of trade stalls, mini fun fair and bands playing in the local pubs.  It was a  really good day out and the sun shone all day for it too.  Yesterday was spent in the garden as we are having a new patio laid in a few weeks so lots to do before that happens.

Anyway I thought I would pop by and share a card I made using the Dangerous Dinosaurs CD from Kraftyhands.  This is a brilliant CD and perfect for all those young monsters we have to make cards for.

I used my accordion die to create this little beauty.  All the papers and images are from the CD and I just added some card candi.  A nice quick and easy card to make.

Thanks for popping by and would love to know what you think.  Hope you all have a good day.  Back to the garden for me.
